Bingo History

Bingo has been played for years now. In 1530, the oldest form of bingo was known as Lo Giucco Del Lotto D’Italia, which was played in Italy on every Saturday night. Currently they are still very popular in Italy as Lottery Balls. In 1778, this game was also introduced in France and was called Le Lotto.

Being played by only the affluent class men, women were never allowed to indulge in the game. Similarly when Bingo arrived in Germany, a version this game was used as a method to help students learn and understand subjects like mathematics, History and even for correct spellings. By the time bingo reached America it was 1929, and evolved with some polished versions and features through the years.

Finally in 1968, United Kingdom first made the game of Bingo official under the 1968 Gaming Act after which several Bingo halls started to appear in the country for people to be able to enjoy the game formally. With the advent of computer technology and internet, several casino websites too started to emerge providing an influx of games for people to enjoy and win subsequently. The year 2003 proved to be very substantial for online bingo, as this was the time when the first ever online bingo website was launched in UK.
